How Are We Doing with HIS Stuff?
I pray you have found many things to be thankful for this week. I, for one, am thankful to have met a young woman last Sunday who gathered with us and expressed a desire to receive prayer seeking God’s help. It was the first time she had ever attended a church. I’m also thankful for the many stories I continue to hear from several of you regarding the work God’s been doing in your hearts over the past couple of months.
We also should be eternally grateful that God has invited us to steward his possessions on his behalf. He has entrusted into our care what he owns in the form of our lives, time, money, and resources. This Sunday, I am going to share what it means for us to be stewards of God’s stuff. I want to encourage you to ask God how he wants you to steward what he has given you – your time, your resources, and your abilities – toward his mission. If you feel led, spend a bit of time reading these scriptures:1 Corinthians 16:1-4; 2 Corinthians 8:1-15; Galatians 6:6-10; 1 Timothy 5:17-18.
As we continue to move forward together, I am excited to see each of you discover how to steward every aspect of your lives for Jesus’ glory. We are all processing change at a different pace, but we can all agree that we are to be his church, spreading throughout the Eastside and beyond, as disciples sent to make disciples, fulfilling the Great Commission. It’s so encouraging to see us starting to move collectively together toward this vision! I look forward to gathering with you on Sunday- if every one of us will devote ourselves to God’s work, I am confident he will change our lives and use us to impact many, many others as well.
See you on Sunday!
