Men & Women: Equipped and Mobilized for Ministry
Dear Doxa Family,
I pray each of you experienced moments of healing, restoration, and reconciliation this week as you contemplated how you have been sinned against or how you’ve sinned against others and then brought it to Jesus. As a follower of Jesus on earth, we will not escape pain, failure, or sorrow, but Jesus is more than enough to sustain us through whatever comes our way. In everything, God is at work in each one of our hearts for his glory — bringing about his good purpose for us individually and corporately. I look forward to continuing to hear your stories of his grace in your lives.
Preparing for Sunday:
This Sunday I will be teaching on how the body needs the giftings of both men and women (created by God equal but different), young and old, equipped and mobilized for ministry in all the spheres of church and family life. If you would like to do some preparatory reading for this Sunday, consider these passages on how God created men and women (equal and different) in these texts: Genesis 1-3; 1 Corinthians 11:1-16; 12:1-31; and Ephesians 5:15-33.
There are a few more things happening at Doxa on Sunday that I want to let you know about:
Missional Community Leader sync at 1:00pm this Sunday, in the auditorium. This is open to all MC group leaders and members, or anyone wanting to know more about getting involved with a Missional Community. This MC sync will focus on membership and our plan for discipleship, so if you have a question about membership at Doxa, please plan to attend – this sync is open to the entire body. Remember that we have these on every 3rd Sunday, so plan to stick around for these highly valuable teachings. As a side note, if you missed Pastor Tim Patton’s helpful and heart-felt blog post about the transition of his Missional Community Group, give it a read here: From the Front Lines of Missional Community Formation.
A reminder for our Family Covenant Celebration on March 29th, where we’re having a single family gathering at 10:00am followed by a potluck. If you want a sneak peek or want to RSVP and sign up to bring something for the potluck, go to www.doxa-church.com/celebrate.
And, last but not least, we’ll give you the scoop on Good Friday and Easter!
Good Friday and Easter gatherings: We are looking forward to gathering for Good Friday on April 3rd, and Easter Sunday on April 5th – we will share more details this week.
Looking forward to being with you on Sunday!
