When others reject us or fail to affirm us…when we go through trials and suffering…when life doesn’t go as we plan…all who are in Christ Jesus have been chosen by God, the Father. You are chosen, loved and accepted by God! His word says that if he is for us, who can be against us?! We were not chosen because of anything we did or didn’t do, but because of his gracious love for us.
So, when we fail, like Peter, we can still be confident that God is for us. When we fail we can look to the cross knowing that Jesus paid for our sins - past, present, and future. Nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:31-39). In addition, we have been chosen for a purpose - to work through us where he has placed us to draw others to Himself.
We are free to live knowing that God is at work in our lives, both changing us by His Spirit and calling others to Himself - in both our failures and successes.
