Week Four: The Unexpected Religion

Passage: Mark 2:18-3:6

Summary: The religious leaders missed Jesus because he seemed more concerned with people then with rules. It’s not that Jesus didn’t care about the law. He knew the heart of the law was about loving God and loving people. Jesus didn’t come to bring more religion. He came to bring people into relationship with God. As a result, he was a threat to the religious and the irreligious. If you are looking for more rules, you will look past Jesus. If you want no ruler, you will miss him as well.

Come to Jesus to rest from religion and rest in his rule.
