Week 16: The Unexpected Glory
Passage: Mark 9:2-13
Summary:
Jesus is the true unfading glory of God who fulfilled the law and will usher in a new age of God’s presence within and among us. Peter recognizes this as another Sinai like experience and wants to build tabernacles for Jesus, Moses and Elijah to dwell in. Jesus does not want the glory to stay at the top of the mountain where people must climb to be with God. Instead he plans to come down from this mountain to climb another one so that he can provide a way through his death for God to come down and be in and with us through his Spirit.
You give yourself to what is most glorious to you.
