RELATE - Week Two: The Loving Father (UP)

Passage: Genesis 1:26 (Isaiah 63:16; 64:8; Deut. 32:6); Matthew 6:5-13; 25-33; Romans 8:12-16; 15:6; 2 Corinthians 1:3; 1 Peter 1:3; 1 John 3:1

Referring to God as Father does not mean God is a man (Male), for God is not a man (Num. 23:19). Father refers to God being the giver and sustainer of life. God is the Father of all Creation. It was the will of God to create humanity. He is the reason we exist. We have our very being because of God the Father. He is a loving Father who initiated our existence and lovingly insures our sustenance. God is also the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus called God Abba (Daddy/Father), showing for us how we are to relate to God ourselves. And God is the Father of a New Creation which he has brought about through Jesus Christ. He chose us from before the foundations of the world to become his children and causes us to be born again into his family.

It all begins and ends in Love.
