RELATE - Week Nine: We are Spirit-Filled Temple (IN)

Passage: John 14:16-21; Romans 8:14-17; Ephesians 5:18

The Spirit of God in us is the Presence of God with us. Jesus promised that he would not leave his disciples as orphans. His Spirit in them is both the evidence that God will never leave them as well as the testimony that God is their loving Father. Throughout the Story of God, God’s presence with his people (Garden, Pillar of Cloud/Fire, Tabernacle, Temple) is the testimony that his people belong to him. Now because of Jesus we have become the dwelling place of God whereby he dwells in us by his Spirit. Not only do we have his presence but Paul commands us to continually be filled with the Spirit as an ongoing act of dependency on God’s presence.

The Spirit of God manifests the Presence of God in us.
